September’s the month of National and Patron Saint Festivals

September is the month of the national and patron saint festivities of San Miguel de Allende, where in addition to celebrating the Independence of Mexico, we also celebrate the patron saint of the town, San Miguel Arcángel who has his parish in the center of the city.

On September 13 will be the traditional race of the “Conspiracy” in which local athletes participate and the winners will go by the symbolic fire to the city of Querétaro on the 15th in the so-called “Symbolic” race where back, they make relays on the way to reach the garden.

Then on September 15, 2022, we celebrate the 212th Anniversary of the beginning of the struggle for the independence of Mexico, in San Miguel de Allende, land of conspirators and where the initiator of Independence, General Ignacio Allende, grew up, the local authorities are preparing the program of the national holidays, with various activities and their respective schedules and days to honor the heroes of Independence.

On September 15, in the evening, the traditional “torch parade” led by inmates of the Social Readaptation Center is also held, an activity that also takes place in the Main Garden.

Later at 11 o’clock at night is the ceremony of the cry from the balcony of the Casa de Allende museum by the municipal president and burning of pyrotechnics.

On the morning of September 16, the traditional military civic parade carried out by educational institutions with their students, the different emergency units of the municipality and security units of the 3 levels of government. Then in the afternoon, the traditional entrance of the Insurgents.

On September 22 will be starting the Fair 2022 that takes place on the periphery of the exit to Los Rodríguez. The poster of artists is already ready, this has already been announced by the authorities.

On September 23 would be carrying out the “review of the dawn” to Mr. San Miguel, an activity that takes place in the afternoon in the Garden with the performance of stars, for the delight of families with their children.

In the early morning of September 30, the old and traditional large “dawn” would be carried out, which takes place in the Main Garden where the stars gather to dance while the time comes for the burning of gunpowder in the Parish of San Miguel Arcángel.

On October 1 in the afternoon the traditional entrance of the xúchiles to the parish of San Miguel, with dancers from more than 100 groups between locals and from different places of the Mexican Republic.

We are ready to shout one more year ¡Viva México! and celebrate the patron saint St. Michael the Archangel.
