    ♦  San Miguel de Allende

    ♦  Ensenada

    ♦  Nuevo Vallarta

    1. Tlaxcala
The list of road trips through Mexico begins on the road from Mexico City to Tlaxcala. This route is perfect to admire the slopes of Popocatepetl, the murals of Cacaxtla – an archaeological site with ruins more than 1,000 years old – and even having breakfast at the Emilio Sanchez Piedras Market, where you can enjoy quesadillas, mole, and homemade adobo.

What you can’t miss? An Osprey Transporter Roll Top backpack to carry everything organized and close at hand.

    2. Oaxaca
“Oaxaca, my love. Whoever visits this incredible city, wants to come back. We don’t say it ourselves, it has been proven by thousands of travelers whose beauty has enchanted.

To make this road trip, it is advisable to rent a car at the airport and start the journey to the state capital. Here you can visit the ex-convent of Santo Domingo Guzmán, the 20 de Noviembre market – famous for its grilled meat aisle called “Pasillo de Humo” (Smoke Aisle).

Afterward, you can take the road again to reach the petrified waterfalls of Hierve el Agua and, of course, visit Monte Albán. We recommend you dedicate at least 3 days to this tour.

What you can’t miss? To stay hydrated at all times, we recommend you bring a 1.893-liter Oasis thermos from Hydro Flask. With it, you will be able to carry any drink at the right temperature.

    3. San Miguel de Allende
San Miguel de Allende has everything you need to disconnect for a weekend. This magical town, named in 2021 as “The Best Small City in the World” by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler, is admired for its Spanish Baroque architecture and is much visited by tourists from the United States and Canada.

The road trip you can take to get there is incredible. To enjoy the scenery, we recommend leaving very early from home to arrive just in time for lunch at the Ignacio Ramirez Market; for lunch, Baja Fish Taquito is a great spot to enjoy Baja-style seafood.

What’s not to miss? To carry clothes and accessories with you, the best option is to invest in an Osprey Mexico Volt 75. Its capacity is perfect so you won’t miss anything on your way. Also, to avoid making emergency stops to drink water, a 946 ml. Wide Mouth bottle from Hydro Flask.

    4. Ensenada
The north of the country has incredible routes for unforgettable road trips, one of them is the road between Tijuana and Ensenada. This road in its free stretch has ocean views, several cliffs, and right at kilometer 60 the spectacular Castillo del Diablo, a house built by Tony Wells that you must visit.

This road takes you to the Guadalupe Valley, an area known for its wine. If you love this beverage, you should not miss the opportunity to take a tour of Vinícola El Cielo; now, if food is your thing, Sabina – Sabina Bandera’s restaurant “La Guerrerense” – is the best place to enjoy a good ceviche or fish tacos.

What can’t you miss? A medium-capacity backpack, ready for any adventure. Osprey’s Stratos 34, made from recycled materials, gives you the opportunity to organize your luggage for hiking or backpacking.

    5. Nuevo Vallarta
Taking a route through Jalisco and Nayarit gives you the opportunity to “pueblear” and get to know the gastronomic tradition of the region. On this road trip through Mexico, you can enjoy unique landscapes, colonial palaces, and beaches such as Rincón de Guayabitos, Sayulita, and even tequila distilleries.

If you organize a route of at least 3 nights, you will be able to enjoy stops in the magical town of Jala, Compostela, and of course, Nuevo Vallarta.
