The best of Mexico’s gastronomy and hospitality industry arrives in San Miguel de Allende

    San Miguel de Allende is consolidating its position as one of the most cosmopolitan cities nationally and internationally, as the official venue for the best of Mexico’s gastronomy and hospitality from August 23rd to 25th of this year.

    More than 200 guests from the hotel and restaurant sector, foodies influencers, and jurors have gathered in the World Heritage City to live a unique experience of hospitality.

    During the 2022 edition, MexBest has the participation of a jury with 25 experts, who will recognize the best of gastronomy and hospitality; after evaluating around 150 restaurants and 60 hotels throughout the country.

    This year’s concept is focused on paying tribute to the staff of both guilds who, despite the crisis caused by covid-19 that has generated great adversity to the sector, continued to receive, serve and offer hospitality in their establishments.

    Among the categories in the restaurant industry are Best of The Best, Best Hotel Restaurant, Casual Dining, New Restaurant, Promising Chef, Best Local Restaurant, Best Regional Cuisine, Best Wine Experience, Best Service, and Reader’s Choice.     The categories in the hotel industry are Best of The Best, Best Wellness Program, Best Service, Romantic Escape, Gourmet Experience, Business Experience, Family Escape, Best Sustainability Program, Design and Architecture, and Reader’s Choice.

    MexBest has had as winners great personalities of the hotel and restaurant industry, such as Enrique Olvera (Pujol), Elena Reygadas (Rosetta), Mikel Alonso (Biko), Rafael Micha (Grupo Habita), among others.

    During the event, different thematic activities are taking place, having as main venues the Live Aqua San Miguel de Allende hotel, Fábrica La Aurora, Rancho Xotolar, Galería Casa Diana, and Finca Luna Serena, among other places, where attendees can enjoy mezcal tastings, spa sessions, handmade soap workshops, Talavera workshops, special dinners, and brunches, among other activities that, besides delighting the most eccentric palates, offer a tour of the most emblematic sites of the destination.

    San Miguel de Allende was chosen as the official site to celebrate one of the most important awards of the restaurant and hotel industry nationwide, sharing with hundreds of attendees the great benefits of this World Heritage City that makes Mexico and the world beat, because it is getting better every day.
