The passage of pilgrimages and independent groups of Sanjuaneros continues under care throughout the municipalities of the northeast of the state of Guanajuato.

In order to safeguard the integrity and safety of the religious devotees who go to San Juan de los Lagos, Jalisco, the authorities of the three levels of government remain operational.

he Civil Protection Directorate of the state of Guanajuato reported that this Friday, January 19, the transit of pilgrim contingents is expected through the road sections of San Luis de la Paz – Dolores Hidalgo, Apaseo el Grande – Celaya and the alternate highway Celaya Villagrán.

Among the main recommendations when traveling near pilgrimages is to turn on flashing lights and slow down; maintain an adequate distance from the vehicle in front; and respect the units that lead the groups of walkers.

The state agency said that on Thursday, January 18, two contingents were identified, 1,200 pilgrims and 90 vehicles that accompany them during their passage through Apaseo el Grande and San Luis de la Paz, without any incidents being reported.

The Operation Pilgrim Passage to San Juan de los Lagos 2024 is carried out in various municipalities in order to implement the measures established in the Comprehensive Risk Management that allow the reduction of accidents and mitigate damage to people, in the presence of concentrations and massive displacements of pilgrims throughout the state.

In municipalities such as San Miguel de Allende, as in other years, the government announced the permanent accompaniment of the people of San Miguel. The first groups are expected to leave during the early hours of Monday, January 22.

In the same way, it does not hurt to remember to take precautions when passing the quotas, respect the speed limits and signs.

Pilgrims are advised to dress warmly to prevent respiratory diseases, avoid walking on the road, and wear clothing or vests with reflectors.
