Firefighters and paramedics 1,710 services during 2023

    During 2023, the San Miguel de Allende Fire and Paramedic Board responded to a total of 1,710 emergency services, according to the association.

    The outstanding work of these professionals covered various situations, from fires to traffic accidents and various services in which their assistance was required.

    Fire reports occupied a significant part of the activity, with 594 interventions in grasslands, followed by 447 cases related to garbage. Likewise, 54 incidents were recorded in dwelling houses, 44 in warehouses, 37 cases of other types of fires, 29 in vehicles and 13 in trees.

    Firefighters also faced high-risk situations, attending to 107 cases of LP gas leaks, 23 electrical incidents, 18 bee swarms, 10 fuel spills, 7 deflagrations, 6 floods, two LP gas fires and one hazardous materials incident.

    Among the pre-hospital medical services, 18 cases were counted. In addition, 370 traffic attendances, 44 rescues, 271 special services, 16 support to the Red Cross, nine to businesses and one to industry were highlighted.

    The Fire and Paramedic Association thanked society and its dedicated team for contributing to the continued progress toward the level of safety and response the city deserves.

    On January 13, the civil organization celebrated its second anniversary and recognized the efforts of its members.
