The 210,055 COVID vaccines that arrived in Guanajuato are of the brands AstraZeneca, Pfizer and Sinovac.

As of this Thursday, March 11, a total of 210,055 vaccines against covid have arrived in Guanajuato from AstraZeneca, Pfizer and Sinovac, informed the Medical Surgeon Colonel Enrique Jimenez Chavarria, coordinator of vaccine delivery.

He informed that 52,650 doses of the Pfizer brand have arrived for health personnel, 78,975 doses of the Pfizer brand have arrived for the elderly, 41,070 doses of the AstraZeneca brand have arrived for the elderly, and 37,360 doses of the Sinovac brand have arrived.

The coordinator of the delivery of vaccines commented that the way in which they choose which municipalities the vaccines go to depends on several factors, among which are the quantity, the type of vaccines and the way in which they are to be transported.

He informed that they do not yet have a date for the arrival of vaccines in large municipalities such as Leon and Irapuato, as this depends on how many are arriving.

This depends on the type of vaccine, for example, AstraZeneca and Sinovac, it is a vaccine that must be kept between 2 to 8 degrees Celsius and can be handled to take them to the rancherías, more distant municipalities, since within the cold network they can be put into special refrigerators that the health centers have, then their conservation is easier and their handling is easier,” he said.

On the other hand, the Pfizer vaccine is destined for central cities, where they can have deep freezers, so it is expected that by the end of the year the entire territory of Guanajuato will be vaccinated as proposed by the federal government.

The Colonel informed that so far those who have been fully vaccinated and have received the first and second doses are second line doctors, however, for other hospital personnel there is still no date on which they can receive them, but arrangements have already been made for them to receive them, so for the time being it only remains for them to continue taking care of themselves.
