After several months of remodeling, today baseball fans in San Miguel de Allende see the work on the Stirling Dickinson baseball stadium completed, where more than 8 million pesos were invested between the state and municipal governments in its first stage.

To the shout of “playball”, the governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinuhe Rodriguez Vallejo, the mayor of San Miguel de Allende, Luis Alberro Villareal Garcia, Maurico Martinez, president of the Bravos de Leon, Juan Carlos Perez, in charge of CODE, Martin Trejo, president of the Baseball League of San Miguel de Allende, inaugurated the baseball stadium.

During the inauguration, Juan Carlos Perez, in charge of CODE’s office, mentioned that “the more than 8 million invested in the remodeling of the stadium, far from being figures, are smiles, from the children, families and athletes who will step on the field, people who are and will be good people who will be far away from addictions and delinquency.

He added that “the government of Rodriguez Vallejo prioritizes sports because through it he offers the reconstruction of the social fabric”.

During the event, the mayor mentioned that the remodeling of the sports infrastructure is just one step to beautify the city, since the remodeling of San Miguel de Allende goes from its most remote communities with the construction of 36 new courts, gardens and squares, roads, streets and highways.

It is worth mentioning that the bipartite investment of the state allocated 6 million pesos and the municipality contributed more than 2 million pesos for the reconstruction of bathrooms, shaping of the ground in tepetate and tezontle, installation of synthetic grass, rehabilitation of paint on the bleachers and reconstruction of the dugout.

On the outside, the façade was completely restored with the installation of a wooden louver wall with recessed lighting, the enlargement of the old entrance to become the new main entrance and the construction of sidewalks on the perimeter with new LED lighting.

Inside, the rehabilitation consisted of preliminary works in the infield, earthworks, drainage and field equipment, as well as the supply and installation of synthetic grass in the gardens.
