Away from the hustle and bustle of downtown San Miguel de Allende, which gives it an air of exclusivity and relaxation, is Amatte Wellnest Community, a hotel that falls in love for many reasons, including its extraordinary design and incredible panoramic views. In addition, love comes through the stomach through the diversity of dining experiences offered at Amatte Rooftop. Photos: Charly Ramos.

Strategically located at the highest point of this architectural complex, Amatte Rooftop brings together in its 1,200 square meters varied proposals carefully curated for the most demanding palates. Hacmans, his restaurant, serves 100% wood-fired food.

Its most outstanding dishes are the rib eye of a kilo from Sonora and the seafood of Ensenada, products of great quality and extremely fresh, we liked Carlos Gerardo Moreno Peniche, General Manager of Amatte Rooftop, during our last issue of Viajeros Food and Travel.

What else can you enjoy at Amatte Rooftop?

Amatte Rooftop was born on December 16 of last year and six months after its opening, it has become one of the pampered sites of visitors to San Miguel de Allende, said Carlos Gerardo Moreno, General Manager.

Cocktails are another of its badges that was designed by Mike Espinoza and it is possible to enjoy it in different bars. “Every Thursday we have an event called Aruma Nights, in which we do collaborations with mixologists from other cities. They take a take over and reproduce the experience they offer in their bar.”

He also highlighted the Spanish corner, where you can enjoy exquisite acorn-cut ham at the moment, accompanied by a glass of wine from one of the 80 labels they offer.

    Meet Amatte Wellnest Community

The hotel that houses this space, Amatte Wellnest Community, is mainly focused on couples who like gastronomic and romantic experiences of the highest level, Carlos shared with us.

The whole concept was structured by the Japanese architect Shinji Miyazaki, which constitutes a watershed “of what you commonly find in San Miguel de Allende. We have more than 5 thousand cacti adorning the spaces. The style is traditional Mexican.”

The general manager added that the entire property is made with a material called chukum, widely used in the southeast for its thermal properties. Therefore, the temperature of the 29 rooms is very pleasant.

Regarding the rooms of Amatte Wellnest Community, Carlos Gerardo Moreno told us that there are different categories, highlighting the master suites, which have two rooms, bronze tubs and sinks made of volcanic stone, like that of the molcajetes.

The two villas also stand out, both with two floors of large dimensions, with kitchenette, living room, dining room and two bedrooms, one of these with a terrace that offers a view similar to that enjoyed in Amatte Rooftop.

    What’s New in Amatte

Carlos Moreno told us that at the end of next July his spa will be ready, which will have a very large hydrotherapy circuit with sauna, steam, jacuzzi, a path of sensations with a variety of temperatures and reflexology area, among others.

This tour will last 1:20 hours, so it will be necessary to schedule before the chosen treatment. About these, Carlos told us that, for the most part, everyone will have a touch of herbalism, which will help eliminate toxins and reduce inflammation.
