The Red Cross of San Miguel de Allende opens today its own clinical analysis laboratory.

This will be located in its facilities at Libramiento Manuel Zavala #117, and the idea is to offer the service at an accessible price for citizens, at a lower cost than in traditional laboratories, informed Leti Fernandez, representative of the ambulance and paramedic unit.

It is a great project that the Red Cross is starting in San Miguel de Allende, they have been working for a little more than half a year, where there has been a lot of study on equipment, ways, getting funds from the people who are part of the Council, to achieve this goal and provide a service to the community in terms of basic laboratory services and it is expected that with the support of the people they can grow, to become a reference laboratory within the city and then within the State.

To give them a quality service, with the experience the people deserve and with reliable results, is the idea and the goal shared by Claudia Muñoz Velazquez, who will be in charge of the laboratory.

Claudia Muñoz is a fermabiologist chemist, who has a degree and currently has 21 years of work experience, working in a private laboratory in a hospital in the city of León, Guanajuato. He started in several areas, he knows them well and also became a technical quality manager, he is a technical expert of the Mexican Accreditation Entity and now he is the sanitary manager of the laboratory of the San Miguel Red Cross.

News: What studies can people come here for, they say they can do everything, but what is everything?

“The best recommendation is always to please go to a doctor, because he is the one who, after studying your medical history, is the one who can determine what tests to do and what not to do, sometimes they do recommend us to do “general tests”, if I am curious, it could be that I can do some general tests, well, I want to make sure I am not anemic, then I can do a blood biometry, I want to see how I am doing in general with my glucose, my kidneys or my cholesterol and triglycerides, then I can do a blood chemistry, I can do a blood chemistry of 6, or I also need to see if I don’t have an infection, I feel a little strange, so when I urinate, I can do a general urine test, or I think I have parasites, so I can also go to the laboratory to do a stool test and we can see that, but the recommendation I would always make is that you go to your doctor and he will determine what you need”, said the specialist in clinical analysis.
