“With the new remodeling of the Marriage Hall of the San Miguel de Allende Civil Registry Office, we offer the people of San Miguel de Allende a dignified space to carry out their Civil Registry procedures.

And to inaugurate this space, I had the pleasure of accompanying Mónica and Efraín in their civil wedding, a moment they will remember for the rest of their lives and that, together with their little son, they will begin a new stage of their lives,” said Libia García, Secretary of Government.

With the objective of dignifying the services of the Civil Registry Offices in Guanajuato, the Secretary of Government is promoting a comprehensive modernization program with modern infrastructure to serve users with efficiency, quality, and comfort.

This was highlighted by the head of the Ministry of Government, Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo, during the inauguration of the Marriage Hall of the Civil Registry Office in the municipality of San Miguel de Allende.

“Marriages are solemn by Law because they have a relevant importance for us because it means the beginning of a new family, it means a dream that becomes a reality where couples form a team,” she said.

The modernization of the Official’s Office, with the Marriage Hall, said García Muñoz Ledo, is important, since San Miguel de Allende, due to its tourist vocation, has become a national and international destination for weddings.

In recent years, there has been a high demand in requests for marriages at the Civil Registry Office of San Miguel de Allende; as of 2018 to date, 2 thousand 368 marriages and 700 home marriages have been celebrated.

With this equipment, more couples like Mónica Rosas and Efraín Sánchez, who today decided to formalize their union with civil marriage, will be able to do so in larger and more dignified spaces.

A total of 859,391 pesos were invested in the modernization works, which consisted of remodeling the hall and office of the Official, changing the lighting, painting, creating service modules, and installing structured cabling.
