Italy arrives at the Festival del Mundo in San Miguel de Allende

Italy delights San Miguel de Allende with a range of artistic and cultural expressions that give life to a new edition of the ‘Festival del Mundo’, the presentation was held at the Italian Embassy.

The hosting was headed by the municipal president, Gonzalo Gonzalez, supported by the state government in the person of Francisco Javier Valverde Polín, from the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur); while the Italian ambassador to Mexico, Luigi De Chiara, was present for the invited delegation.

“We would need all of Mexico to be able to receive them. What they have presented to us will undoubtedly delight the people of San Miguel and all those who visit San Miguel. Italy is the cultural capital of Europe, we have a part of Italy at home,” said the mayor.

“Great collaboration with San Miguel. Italy and Mexico are two cultural superpowers. San Miguel is a historic city that has been able to preserve its identity,” said Luigi de Chaira.

This event marked the beginning of the artistic-cultural program, which will be presented from June 14 to 25 with open-air photographic exhibitions, art galleries, cinema, music, lectures, and “cine concerts” (film screenings with live music).

All events will have sanitary protocols; the program can be consulted on the social networks of the Municipality’s Culture and Traditions Department.
