    A fun and exciting Children’s Day celebration was held with a diverse program of festivities in San Miguel de Allende.

    As part of the Happenings of the campaign ‘Thank you San Miguel de Allende for Making the Heart of Mexico Beat’, the Main Garden was filled with colors to celebrate all the children of San Miguel de Allende and visitors to this World Heritage City.

    Starting at 5:00 p.m., the Main Garden had for all the children of San Miguel and tourists, different activities such as mojigangas workshops, which are puppets or traditional marionettes of this Heritage City, which are characterized by their head and bust, made of cardboard and are mounted on a structure that supports them to be dressed in typical costumes of the region.

    In order to have a greater diversity of activities during the Happening, there were other workshops for children to enjoy their day, in which they could make colorful papel picado and typical handicrafts of the region, and so they could learn more about the culture of this important tourist city.

    The “Ciudad de los Niños” (Children’s City) was also set up, where various games and activities were held, clowns with balloons were available for the children, who chose their favorite characters and painted their faces with colorful paints, and enjoyed the princesses who walked around the entire place.

    During the Children’s Day Happening, candy, cotton candy, popcorn, fresh water, and juices were handed out to all the children who enjoyed the activities or who passed by the event.

    To conclude, the children enjoyed a fun clown show, with their witticisms made them laugh to provide them with an exciting celebration of Children’s Day.

    In addition to this event, the Direction of Culture and Traditions, offered San Miguel’s children and their families the theater performance “Tribute to Cri-Cri”, at the Ángela Peralta Theater at its maximum available capacity and with a show that entertained young and old alike.
