FASMA: A new cultural festival to be held in San Miguel de Allende

The Fundación Casa Europa México AC, with the aim of increasing the existing cultural offer in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato’s World Heritage City, conceived and now convenes the first edition of the Festival de las Artes de San Miguel de Allende (FASMA), which will take place from August 11 to 21 of this year and will include more than 70 events -free or with low recovery cost- of music, theater, cinema, dance, literature and other plastic, auditory and visual expressions of the arts, a program in whose organization nearly 30 dependencies and cultural associations participated.

Thus, this group of cultural organizations in the city has agreed to offer around 70 artistic events during the ten days of FASMA, which will take place in the consolidated cultural venues and public squares of San Miguel de Allende; in this way, with the support of the municipal and state governments, as well as Germany as guest country, the city will become the epicenter of culture in Mexico.

Increasing access to culture
In these terms, FASMA will have a wide cultural offer for children, young people, adults, and families, and many of the events will be free or with a low recovery cost, a determination whose fundamental objective is that any segment of the population has access to cultural and artistic events.

The idea of the organizers is that this first edition of FASMA consolidates, and manages to become a tradition that brings more culture, offering new experiences not only to locals but to visitors, national and foreign, who have San Miguel de Allende as a tourist reference thanks to its location, its traditions, its gastronomy, its good weather and its many attractions, which makes it an ideal destination.

Finally, the organizers pointed out that the FASMA program, as well as the official FASMA website so that all those interested in participating can obtain complete information, will be announced and activated at a later date.
