  • Solar Q&A

How does a solar system work?
A photovoltaic (PV) solar system is comprised of solar panels, racks for mounting the panels, electrical wiring, and an inverter. From sunrise to sunset, the solar panels will generate DC electricity, which is converted to AC by the inverter.  The AC power is delivered to your home’s main electrical service panel and offsets the energy purchased from the CFE.

How does a solar system integrate with the CFE grid?
Once your system is approved and a specially configured bi-directional meter has been installed, the energy generated by your system will offset part of your normal consumption, reducing the total purchase from CFE.  Excess energy is handled as a credit on the bi-monthly invoice, further lowering what you pay.

How much will I save with a solar energy system?
If you are billed at the CFE high usage DAC rate, the savings will be substantial.  At current rates you will not be paying more than m$p750 to m$p1,000 every two months with a well-configured system.

How long will a solar system last?
Our systems are guaranteed for 25 years, though the actual lifetime is much longer.

    Why Tec Energia?
Tec Energia has been dedicated to renewable and green energy projects in Mexico for more than three years.  The equipment we install is from top Tier 1 vendors such as Solartec and ReneSola panels, PLP aluminum structures and Fronius inverters.  Our installers are fully certified (EC586, DC3) and insured, and have so far been involved with more than 20MWp in residential and industrial installations from small 6 panel systems to a 100KWp system at the Nestle plant in Jalisco.
