    History, culture, art, nature, all this and much more we are very lucky to have in our country.  Spread across the more than 2,400 municipalities that make up Mexico we find some of the most charming corners that one can imagine and that are waiting to be discovered; whether they are medieval villages, fishing villages or villages near the highest peaks of the Sierra Madre all have something to offer.

    And as it seems that normality is coming back into our lives, soon tourism will too, and this is already being noticed among all of us. So much so that internet searches to find a destination for next summer have increased considerably, which has led us to ask ourselves the following question.

    What is the most popular town in Mexico according to internet searches?

    Holidu, the vacation rentals and apartments search engine has conducted a study to determine which Mexican towns of less than twenty thousand inhabitants were the most searched for in the last year. In order to do so, 2,458 Mexican towns were evaluated Mexican towns, thus creating the ranking of towns that you can see below.

    Top 10 of the most searched Mexican towns on the Internet.

    1. Mazamitla – Jalisco | 2910 Searches/month

    The ranking was compiled by the team of experts at Holidu, the search engine for vacation rentals and apartments. From the data provided by the National Institute of Statistics, more specifically the data of the Mexican municipalities according to their number of inhabitants. The research focused on the subset of towns and cities with a population of up to 20,000 inhabitants; for each of the municipalities involved in the research, data was collected on the average number of monthly on the number of average monthly searches in the last 12 months for the terms “What to see in [municipality]” and “What to see in [municipality]” and “What to see in [municipality]”. and “What to do in [municipality]” by Mexicans in the Google search engine. The ranking aims to identify the search trends of the Mexican population to identify the most interesting centers in terms of potential travel destinations. The data was collected in the month of April 2021.
