There are stories that we love to tell and this is one of the most beautiful we have ever had. The protagonist: Juan Pablo Mora, a 10-year-old boy from San Miguel and a worthy representative of La Cantera, in the community of Don Diego.

This little boy, who is in elementary school, is now representing Mexico in the USKids World Cup being held in Pinehurst, North Carolina in the United States. He is one of the best children’s golf players in Mexico.

That’s right, Juan Pablo and his dad Fidel traveled this week to the United States and first arrived in Houston to play a “role” and roam the streets, and then prepare physically and mentally to compete with children from all over the world.
Juan Pablo, from the community of La Cantera, is among the children from around the world who play golf and who will begin competing in the World Junior Golf Championship today.

Professor Rafael Villalobos, director of the Ventanas Golf Club, proudly tells how Juan Pablo has been a golf-loving child since he was 7 years old.

“Juan Pablo is the son of one of our caddies and since we have a program here to support the children of our caddies to learn this sport, little by little Juan Pablo became passionate about it.”

He relates that Juan Pablo was 7 years old when he accompanied his father Fidel to work, so he began to love the golf clubs and as soon as he got out of school he would run to the golf courses to start training those accurate shots, talk about the swing, the “hole in one”, “grips” and even the “19th hole”, the term used by golfers to celebrate the end of a great game.

At 10 years old, Juan Pablo is an expert.

We know that golf is not accessible to everyone and it is known that those who play it are part of a certain social level, and thanks to the fact that Juan Pablo is part of the scholarship program, Mark Eversole became his sponsor and surely full of pride.

Now he is in the United States to see his “godson” compete, and he also helped him overcome the complications that arose to get Juanpa’s passport and visa…

With the help of Mark, from the Ventanas Golf Club and the teachings of Professor Villalobos, Juan Pablo began to fly and stand out in the world of golf.

Today begins the tournament in which Juan Pablo will compete in the Mexico Classic 2021 and is already in the fields.

Good luck to Juan Pablo, his dad Fidel and Mark! Being there has already turned Juanpa into a champion?.
