THE 67TH EDITION OF THE CANDELARIA FAIR OPENED THIS WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 1 IN SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE, WHERE A LARGE NUMBER OF PEOPLE GATHERED AT BENITO JUÁREZ PARK TO APPRECIATE THE PLANTS, POTS AND TREES THAT THE EXHIBITORS OFFERED, ENLIVENED WITH THE MUSIC OF THE LIONS OF THE SIERRA DE XICHÚ

This tradition so appreciated among the population began its 67th edition with the determined commitment of the municipal president Mauricio Trejo Pureco, who returned this festivity to Benito Juárez Park and again is a San Miguel pride.

In a natural setting full of colors, smells and joy, the Feria de la Candelaria 2023 brought together hundreds of people in the most emblematic park of the city to delight the senses with an exhibition of flowers, plants, fruit trees and accessories to decorate the home, with the warmth of the nurseries of San Miguel and various parts of Mexico.

In a park crowded with visitors and representing the municipal president, the director of Environment and Sustainability, Alejandro Castro said: “That is San Miguel de Allende: color, it is aroma, in this sense, following the line of our municipal president recovering public spaces, preserving traditions. Welcome ”

For his part, the director of Culture and Traditions, Acacio Martínez, said: “San Miguel continues with its vocation to keep flowers and plants very close in the coexistence of us, because as human beings prone to nature, we feel good among plants and among flowers, so it is good that our municipal president insists that this festival of Candelaria do not let it end, It is one of the richest traditions that our people have and that must be continued. Welcome to the Feria de la Candelaria, this is San Miguel de Allende and it is very nice and it is ours, everyone’s.”

To liven up the visit of the people, daily there will be artistic, cultural, training and recreational events, as happened with the presentation at the opening ceremony that the Lions of the Sierra de Xichú had, who put families, couples, young people and foreign community present to dance and sing. At the end the Traditional Blessing of the Holy Cross of the Park was made, framed in a carpet of ephemeral art.

From February 1 to 15 and from 9 in the morning to 9 at night, the Candelaria Fair is filling every corner of Benito Juárez Park for attendees to acquire the flora of their liking by choosing their favorite nursery, touring their walkers, tasting the food area and returning to San Miguel homes to fill them with life. All in a clean, pleasant and safe space.
