SMA commemorates ‘Women’s Day’ with lectures, races… and Zumba!

    Within the framework of ‘International Women’s Day’, the Municipal Government is carrying out a weekly program of activities for the integral development of San Miguel women. Conferences, races, football and zumba tournaments are the main activities they will be carrying out.

    From this Wednesday, March 2 and until next Tuesday, March 8, commemorative and social awareness activities are being carried out on the importance and equal recognition of women in their environments of coexistence and development.

    The objective is to replicate and commemorate the importance of women, generate sisterhood, highlight their work advances, social inclusion and decision-making, promote their physical health, their care for their emotional health, in addition to adding the university and professional social sectors to reduce social inequality and act with a gender perspective.

    University communities, athletes, non-governmental organizations, social representatives, managers of colonies and communities, young people and older adults are being convened.

    This Wednesday began this program headed by the Municipal Institute of Attention to Women (IMAM) by presenting a conference ‘Argumentation of the Gender Perspective, International Tools’ at the IMAM facilities in “La Rotonda”, located on the Boulevard of the Conspiracy # 128.

    For this Thursday, in the same place at 10 in the morning, the talk ‘Reducing the inequality gap’ was given.

    The activities will continue this Friday 4, now at the sports level, with the Lightning Women’s Football Tournament, in the Municipal Sports Unit, thus motivating the physical development of women, while promoting healthy coexistence among the participants.

    Within the framework also of the ‘Day of the Family’, the sports activities will continue with the realization of the ‘Race for International Women’s Day’ that will begin in the Cardo and will travel through several streets of the historic center, where the San Miguel society will recognize the effort of the competitors and will serve to generate awareness about the value of women in families.

    Back at “La Rotonda” on Monday 7, there will be a forum called ‘Sustainability in Times of Pandemic’, where the capacities, virtues and creativity of women to be “heads of family” and economically support their families in the framework of affectations by COVID-19 will be discussed.

    The closing of this commemorative week will be on Tuesday, March 8, ‘International Women’s Day’, with an event to deliver awards to outstanding women in various areas, social sectors and territories of the municipality of San Miguel, in a hotel in the city.

    In addition, there will be a physical activation in the Zeferino Gutiérrez park, with the intention of adding more women and knowing the importance of this international anniversary, its commemoration and the services provided by the Municipal Government, through the IMAM.
