ACTORS AUDITION CALL
PLAYERS WORKSHOP welcomes all interested people who are, or aspire to be, actors. This call is for MATURE persons (40+) for: the MEXICAN PREMIERE of a new play by Australian, Matthew Whittet
Artistic Director Michael Dobbin is holding auditions for the PLAYERS WORKSHOP Winter 2023 production.
NOTE: you must be available to rehearse all throughout January and perform from late January through February 12th, 2023
The play is SEVENTEEN, by Matthew Whittet. It’s a funny, raw, moving and insightful look at the perils of youth and the many parallels to a much older generation, the boomers.
This will be the Mexican premiere of the play which has had huge success in Australia, England and Canada.
The “theatrical device” that makes this play a little different is that it requires a sextet of mature actors ranging in age from forties through seventies to portray a group of rowdy teenagers celebrating their freedom on the night after finishing their High School finals. We need men and women with a sense of playful adventure, and filled with spirit.
Whatever your age, your size, your”look”, you must be fearless and physical and ready for risk-taking, as an actor.
This will not be easy but it will be great fun and, we think, a very rewarding project
· If you have worked with Michael Dobbin before, simply send an email to me expressing interest and note your most recent acting work for reference. Be sure to include your contact info and a photo, please. (address below)
