Pipe Organ arrives at the Tercera Orden

The historic 1878 Johnson and Sons pipe organ arrived last week in San Miguel and was carefully unloaded from the truck and much of the instrument stored in this side chapel of the Tercera Orden. The crew from the US will arrive the third week of September to install the organ, a job which should take about a week. Fundraising will continue this fall to cover the costs of the shipping, which proved more expensive than originally anticipated. The public dedication of the organ will take place on Tuesday, November 21 in two performances dedicated to St. Cecilia, the patron saint of music and the arts.
