While there are many kinds of insurance and different customizations to any policy, making them very expensive with for example “zero deductibles” the inverse is true that they can be made very inexpensive (practically useless) with extremely “high deductibles”.

The main goal of insurance is to decrease exposure “mitigate personal liability” for accidents, (unexpected events) that may take place at a future date.

Having said this, I have not heard of a policy that is written and sold with the express intention of “NOT WORKING”.

Through our carriers, we have paid out many claims and represented many clients to force their insurers to pay as well.

I will however agree that the less that an insurance company pays out, will in effect make them more profitable.

This oftentimes creates a model where agents are inspired to sell superfluous coverage that one does not need.

I would highly recommend that common sense be employed when purchasing a policy, like fully understanding your agent in your native language, like being able to read the policy in English for example, and lastly being able to customize the policy to fit your exact needs.
