Guanajuato Film Festival to be held in July with the theme: The Quintescence

The Guanajuato International Film Festival celebrates 25 years of contributing to the cultural cohesion and success of the Mexican film industry. To celebrate its Silver Edition, GIFF presents its Official Image which was made by Anali Jaramillo, and the theme it will address: The Quintessence.

From silver we were born, today we celebrate our essence. GIFF is inspired by The Quintessence, a term attributed to the element that composes the soul and the essence of the spirit, which in the alchemist tradition referred to the extract of a particle that is separated from the dominant element.

Silver as the original material of celluloid and a characteristic mineral of the Bajío region is also a celebration appellation for a quarter of a century. GIFF celebrates its XXV Anniversary with enthusiasm intact, globally recognized for its multiple contributions in terms of production and exhibition in the cinematographic world, promoting the talent, development, and career of hundreds of young people who wish to enter the seventh art.

GIFF commemorates in 2022 a special edition in which it is presented in its purest, most essential, and unalterable form. The Festival will be held from July 21 to 31 and the dates are as follows: July 21 to 24 in the city of León, in San Miguel de Allende from 25 to 28 and in Irapuato from 28 to 31 of the same month.

In the style of those who master both the word and the projection of images to transform them into remarkable acts, we invite you to return to our essence and celebrate the first quarter-century of the Guanajuato International Film Festival.
