Conagua authorizes the construction of the Cieneguita Bridge in San Miguel de Allende.

The construction of the “Puente de la Cieneguita”, is a work that is contemplated in a construction time of 7 months.

Through social networks the municipal president, Luis Alberto Villarreal, announced the confirmation for the construction of the new Cieneguita Bridge, which will finally put aside the latent problems that arose with the overflow of the Laja River, which crosses this site and that with the increase of its waters in the rainy season, caused damage to the ford that connects the communities in this area with the urban area.

Through a publication in his social networks, Luis Alberto Villarreal, said: “We close the week of Corazón Imparable, Conagua authorized the construction of the Cieneguita Bridge, a tribute to our indigenous communities”.

In addition to the text, several images were attached, in which a change was observed in the details and finishes of the work, compared to the first project that was presented in mid-June 2019. The mayor pointed out that this bridge will be “a tribute to the indigenous communities”.

It should be noted that a year and a half had to pass since the project was presented, so that an agreement could be reached with the owners of the land where the bridge will pass and that CONAGUA, could grant the permits to carry out the construction over the Laja River. Let’s remember that during the month of June 2020, the mayor of San Miguel in an interview for El Sol del Bajio, mentioned that due to the pandemic, “once the Conagua offices are reopened, the construction permits for the construction of the Cieneguita Bridge can be authorized and even the governor has spoken with the national general director of the Conagua, to accelerate the passage of this work”.

The executive project for the construction of the new bridge that will cross the Laja River, at the height of the community of La Cieneguita, has already been validated, so now with the permission of the Conagua, the public bidding for the execution of this work, which has an estimated construction time of 7 months, will be carried out.

Luis Alberto, has indicated that when the construction of the bridge begins, in the event that partial or temporary closures are necessary, they will be announced at the appropriate time so that the population of this area will consider precaution, especially in times of transportation to the head of the municipality.

The work of the “Puente de la Cieneguita”, is a work that is contemplated in a construction time of 7 months, of which the mayor assured that to date there is financial sufficiency to execute the work. The works of this project consist of the construction of a bridge with three spans of 32 meters each, with a free height of up to 10.37 meters in the riverbed, for a two-lane roadway of 3.5 meters wide and sidewalks on both sides of 1.5 meters.
