Two million visitors will arrive in Guanajuato by summer

Guanajuato, a state known for its rich cultural heritage and vibrant tourist attractions, is set to welcome a staggering two million visitors during the upcoming summer holidays. Juan José Álvarez Brunel, the Secretary of Tourism in Guanajuato, revealed that the Tourist Observatory has projected a hotel occupancy rate of 36 percent, which is expected to generate economic benefits of nearly five billion pesos from July 19 to August 20.

Expressing enthusiasm for the influx of tourists, Álvarez Brunel emphasized that the tourism sector is diligently preparing to cater to both domestic and international visitors. Their aim is to provide an unparalleled and memorable experience by showcasing the best attractions the region has to offer.

Highlighting the gradual recovery of tourism, Álvarez Brunel disclosed that in 2022 alone, Guanajuato welcomed 22 million visitors, resulting in an economic boost of 47 billion pesos for the state. The current year has already witnessed a significant increase of 10 percent in the number of visitors, along with a 15 percent surge in economic benefits compared to the same period last year.
