Fábrica La Aurora is one of the most special venues in San Miguel de Allende, with more than 35 art studios worth knowing.

There are few destinations that have the artistic, historical and cultural heritage of San Miguel de Allende, a city first cataloged as a Magical Town, to later cede the title and be named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Fábrica La Aurora is one of its spaces that agglomerates an important part of the artistic work in the region, a wonderful Cultural Center of Art and Design established within an old textile factory. You have to visit it.

Fábrica La Aurora is one of the most special places in San Miguel de Allende, a wonderful center of creative opportunities that houses more than 35 studios and art galleries, cultural workshops, antique and design shops, and even local gastronomic proposals. Its space has a history as impressive as its current artistic heritage, this by being established inside an old textile factory founded in 1902.

After almost a century worked as an important engine for the textile industry in Guanajuato, the factory transformed its space to become a Cultural Center of Art and Design, opening its doors in 2004 as Fábrica La Aurora. Here converges the work of more than 30 artists of international stature, who use its various areas such as exhibition rooms and work studios.

Entering Fábrica La Aurora is to visit an endless number of walkers and open studios, as well as a constant exhibition of renowned national and foreign artists. In addition to this, its space offers workshops in painting, sculpture, glass techniques and more, taught either by the artists themselves or by their residents. These can be consulted through the social networks of each space – which in turn are in the directory of La Aurora.

To complement its cultural proposal, Fábrica La Aurora also has several gastronomic spaces, including an outdoor cafeteria with a casual atmosphere, a gourmet burger restaurant and a tasting room of local wines. The latter is run by La Santísima Trinidad, and offers its visitors the possibility of enjoying its labels without having to go to its vineyard.
