The “Vendimias de Guanajuato 2021” will be held between July and October

    The Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato, Juan José Álvarez Brunel, announced that the “Vendimias de Guanajuato” will be held this year in the months of July, August, September, and October, they expect to have around 4 thousand visitors and economic revenue of 7 million pesos.

    The grape harvests give thanks to the land for allowing to have the fruit of the grape that can be tasted in each label, these are an enotouristic attraction that captivates its visitors. The Grape Harvests will be held at the Wine Museum and the vineyards: Camino de Vinos, Toyán, Los Arcángeles, Bernat, San José La Vista, Octágono, San Bernardino, Tierra de luz and Cuna de Tierra, located in the municipalities of Dolores Hidalgo CIN, Guanajuato, San Miguel de Allende, San Felipe and León; and the event “Mientras Tanto un Vino”, in Parque Guanajuato Bicentenario, in Silao.

    “Guanajuato is a leader in wine tourism at the national level; it is a consolidated state, with serious projects that have bet on wine tourism and that promote all its production in quality (…). Today Guanajuato wine is a reality,” said Carlos Borboa, director of Mexico Selection By Concours Mondial de Bruxelles.

    “This launching of the Vendimias program will be a milestone, because behind the Vendimias festivities will come an important strategy to bring Guanajuato wines to the level that this country historically deserves,” Borboa congratulated.

    The event aims to promote and publicize the wine, vineyards, routes, grape harvests, and ecotourism products and thus reactivate this activity of Guanajuato destinations that today “places us nationally as the 4th largest producer of wine, with an annual production of 700,000 bottles,” said Secretary Alvarez Brunel.

    “Guanajuato, Tierra de Vinos” seeks to promote the activity of the 43 vineyards, 34 of which are registered with the Grape and Wine Association; all of them have 385 hectares harvested and a record of 137 labels recognized with 108 awards received. In addition to providing greater diffusion to the Wine Museum, which positions Guanajuato as the second state with a space like this; promoting events that support the development of the wine industry such as VINUM, to be held in November, and the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles in December.

    Also present at the press conference were Yamil Abraham Jechen, from the Guanajuato Grape and Wine Association; Guillermo García Martínez, from the General Directorate of Hospitality and Tourism of León; as well as municipal presidents of the Magical Towns of the state of Guanajuato and representatives of the vineyards and wineries of Guanajuato.
