    Since 2008 San Miguel de Allende has been named by UNESCO as one of the cities with Cultural Heritage of Humanity, it is famous for its history, its beautiful architecture, and its culture, and it has become one of the most outstanding destinations, preferred not only by national visitors but also by international tourism.

    San Miguel de Allende is recognized as the Cervantine Capital of America, it is the Iberoamerican cradle of Don Quixote, within the titles and recognitions that stand out the most this beautiful place stands out for hosting the International Cervantino Festival. In 1926 San Miguel de Allende was declared a historical monument, and the center of the city still preserves a colonial style. If you have the opportunity to visit and walk its streets, don’t forget to try the local gastronomy, here are five recommendations. Take note!

    1.- El Correo San Miguel de Allende
    This restaurant is located just one block from the Main Garden, in this establishment, you can find traditional Mexican food. It preserves the recipes from home offering simple dishes, a family atmosphere, and affordable prices.

    2.- Hecho en México
    It is one of the most recognized and popular places for local and foreign diners, it is a restaurant that offers traditional and local food. It offers starters such as Mexican snacks like sopes, quesadillas, or soups, with various salads, enchilada tacos, and international food options and its famous garnishes.

    Where: Ancha de San Antonio #8, Zona Centro, San Miguel de Allende, Gto.

    Hours: Sunday to Thursday from 12:00 noon to 10:00 pm. Friday and Saturday from 12:00 to 23:00 h.

    3.- Los Milagros Restaurant
    If you want to enjoy a quiet atmosphere with significant gastronomic proposals, Los Milagros is the option for the whole family. It is a restaurant that offers traditional Mexican food with a wide menu of drinks and main dishes since it offers around 130 dishes prepared at the moment. This place has more than fifteen years of tradition. It has live music and a cantina bar. It has two branches in San Miguel de Allende.

    It is a place that offers authentic regional Mexican food, is known for its traditional recipes, and is a space that looks like a colonial atmosphere. It offers a wide menu of dishes ideal to enjoy for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. You can find snacks such as bean tamales with hoja santa, sautéed escamoles, cochinita panuchos, a variety of salads, main courses, and drinks.

    5.- Casa Nostra
    It is one of the places where you can appreciate the best view of the city, it offers a wide variety of dishes of traditional gastronomy, as well as typical dishes of French and Italian cuisine, among others.
