The Midday Rotary Club of San Miguel de Allende starts off 2021 with an in-depth look at the Covid 19 Pandemic in Mexico.  We have assembled a distinguished panel of medical experts from the Anáhuac Institute of Public Health, Anahuac University Mexico.  Joining us on this important and informative Zoom video meeting is Dr. Arturo Cervantes Trejo, the Carlos Peralta Chair of Public Health at the Anáhuac Institute of Public Health.  Dr. Cervantes is a medical doctor with a master and doctorate degrees from Harvard University in public health. He was in charge of the National Center for Injury Prevention in Mexico and is a founding member of the Forum on Global Violence Prevention, at the National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine in the United States.

Also joining our panel will be Dr. Isaac Castañeda Alcántara,  a physician with a master’s degree in public health, and doctoral candidate, and Víctor Andrade Carmona and Alejandra Cortés Rodríguez,  recent medical graduates from Anáhuac University currently working as research assistants for Dr. Cervantes and Dr. Castañeda.

This presentation includes an overview of the COVID work underway at the Carlos Peralta Chair of Public Health.  You’ll hear the most recent information about the virus including its origin, how it works, treatment, and complications, plus the mortality in Mexico and, closer to home, the state of Guanajuato.   In addition, the information everyone is waiting for will be the latest on the vaccines.  The most recent Vaccine availability plan, how the vaccine works, side effects, and expected results.
