Pavements and rural roads, drinking water in neighborhoods and communities, electrifications in the most remote areas of San Miguel de Allende, and sports, educational, and social infrastructure works are part of this municipal public works strategy that has been executed since April 26 with start-ups, progress, and conclusions during the last two months.

As was the public commitment with the inhabitants of the municipality, the government headed by Mauricio Trejo carried out 60 Days, 60 works in addition to fulfilling the objective of listening and benefiting more than 40 thousand inhabitants with greater need, impacting communities and neighborhoods throughout the length and breadth of the Sanmiguelense territory.

“Very happy and above all very satisfied. We have already completed 60 works, it went very quickly, but they are already finished, thank you very much for your trust” said the mayor, who added that “they are a reality that returned the traditional urban image that was being lost in San Miguel and that is now changing the quality of life of its inhabitants and their families”.

In the area of sports, the second Municipal Sports Unit, next to the Bicentennial Park, which will be one of the best in central Mexico and was the 60th construction work, was started; in addition, the sports courts of the current sports unit on the highway to Celaya were rehabilitated and the new high-performance training center, which is the best public space of its kind in the state of Guanajuato, was also put into operation.

Also noteworthy is the mobility infrastructure, with 30 road works and paving of ball stone drowned in cement, which recovered the traditional urban image of San Miguel de Allende and put an end to the deterioration of the colonial landscaping that previous governments did with works based on occurrences and not on the identity of this Heritage City.

Another very sensitive issue for the population of San Miguel de Allende is the supply of drinking water, so Mauricio Trejo listened to these recurring requests and gave instructions to drill and raise equipped wells, expand distribution networks and introduce storm and sanitary drainage in strategic areas of the municipal territory, both in communities and in the urban area, such was the case of the well in the Jardines II neighborhood or the one in Cañajo.

This “first package” of public works also prioritized basic public services such as the nine electrifications in various remote locations, making them more illuminated and safer; in addition, addressing the needs of educational infrastructure, perimeter fences were erected in public schools, public squares such as Las Cañas were rehabilitated and bathroom modules were built, as in the sports court of Los Rodriguez.

Each action of 60 Days, 60 Works is fulfilling the purpose of improving the lives of the people of San Miguel every day, so that they have better conditions for their development, with more dignified places to live and live together; these benefits have been expressed by the people in each announcement made by the president in his social networks, which has motivated the mayor to continue governing with social sensitivity.
