Last night in the streets of the downtown area, parties were held that caused, once again, to steal the tranquility of the neighbors.

In view of this, Mayor Mauricio Trejo that from now on, noise issues in the urban area will have new rules for both the organizers of parties and events, as well as for those who rent their homes through digital platforms such as Airbnb, where tenants who come to spend the weekend, steal the tranquility of their neighbors.

He indicated that after hearing a complaint from a neighbor in the Chorro area where a wedding had more than 80 decibels of noise when the allowed is 65, they sent personnel from Civil Protection and realized that there were indeed 2 events nearby: one in Casa Chorro and another in a hotel called Casa Cien on Recreo street… in both, they verified that they violated the noise commitments.

“They are out-of-town event planners who bring events to town, don’t support local businesses, and leave trash on Mondays. I see a beautiful #historic #Mexican town that will be #demolished by #coddling. Sorry, it was special when I came to it and fell in love with San Miguel because it was a paradise before the #unbearable noise,” described the report sent to NEWS.

In the face of this Mayor Trejo reported:

“Wedding events are an important part of the economy, but in recent years the events have broken the order and disregarded the regulations causing neighbors CANNOT LIVE IN PEACE because of the noise they generate.

“We will restore order and monitor the places in urban areas where these events can take place. We will restore order and limit the places so that the people of San Miguel can sleep and live in peace.

He stressed that a meeting will be held with the organizers of local and foreign events to discuss the commitments they have with San Miguel de Allende, where the first priority will always be to safeguard the tranquility of the inhabitants.
