UNEBUS network coverage extended to Irapuato, Salamanca and Celaya

    The governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo announced that work is underway on the project to expand the coverage of the UNEBUS transportation network to San Miguel de Allende, and other connections such as the Toyota plant in Apaseo el Grande and even Querétaro.

    This, during the start of the construction of the first UNEBUS station in Irapuato, which in its second stage also includes stops in Salamanca and Celaya, with an amount of 76 million pesos in infrastructure, whose investment is private.

    He explained that the locations for the integration stations in Irapuato and Celaya have been defined and negotiations are underway between both municipalities and private investors for the concession of these spaces.

    In addition, through the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Connectivity and Mobility (SICOM), the executive projects for the bus stops for the Silao- Irapuato-Salamanca-Celaya section are being prepared and the requirements for the integration of the UNEBUS system in the municipality of Apaseo el Grande are being reviewed.

    “In this second stage of the service, a benefit for more than 856 thousand people is estimated, adding the two stages, this system becomes an option to meet the mobility needs of 3 million people, representing 50% of the population. The Irapuato UNEBUS station will start operations with 90 daily services to the inter-municipal routes of Guanajuato, Silao and Leon, and 120 services to suburban routes”.

    The suburban routes include communities such as La Calera, Lo de Juárez, among others.

    For his part, Mayor Ricardo Ortiz Gutiérrez emphasized that the service would benefit 65 users from Irapuato.

    According to the state executive, the construction of a transfer station to integrate UNEBUS to the Integrated Transportation System of Irapuato (SITI) is being evaluated.

    The amount of private investment for the construction of this UNEBUS station, located on Solidaridad Avenue, is a little more than 5 million pesos, and it will have a waiting room, air conditioning, restrooms, electronic screens and internet.

    The event was attended by state and municipal officials and Flecha Amarilla executives.

    During the governor’s tour, rehabilitations and paving of roads were also delivered and started.
