With teachers from public and private institutions, the municipal government celebrated their day with a dinner accompanied by live music to liven up the evening dedicated to educators.

In front of more than 3,000 San Miguel teachers, Mayor Mauricio Trejo thanked them for all their efforts and dedication to their profession and reiterated his commitment to improving the quality of the classrooms so that children and young people can study in more dignified places.

“I want to thank you very much for all the support you have given us during these 19 months. It was difficult to restart classes after the pandemic because many classrooms were vandalized, there were no benches, no blackboards, and the bathrooms were in very bad condition, however, all the teachers were there,” said the mayor.

In response, the director of the preschool in the community of Los Rodriguez, teacher Dalia Solis, wasted no time in thanking the Municipality for the work it has done to resume classes after the pandemic.

“After returning from the pandemic, they supported us with masks for the children, they were helping with hygiene items and also doing other work in different schools, coming to recover the children who are still out of school”, acknowledged the teacher.

Teacher Eugenia Aguascalientes, a teacher from the University of Leon, was also happy, clarifying that she is always present in this celebration made by the Municipality: “It has been very satisfying to realize that we teachers have a great value in this city, thank you very much and it is good that our work continues to be considered as something important”.

In anticipation of the Teacher’s Day celebration, thousands of exemplary Sanmiguelenses enjoyed on Friday night a special celebration made for them, courtesy of the Municipal Administration, where Mauricio Trejo reaffirmed his support to teachers by commenting that as long as they remain tireless, the Municipal Government will continue to work hard for education.
