San Miguel de Allende’s tourist buses underwent a physical inspection to guarantee the necessary conditions to transport tourists and visitors.

This was after Mayor Mauricio Trejo instructed the Transportation Department to verify the good condition of the public transportation units. In recent weeks there have been several citizen reports about the poor service they provide.

These inspections are extraordinary and are carried out to confirm the proper operation of lights, braking system, handrail, and seat structures, as well as the condition of tires and windshields.

Every six months, mechanical inspections are carried out and the 93 concession and permit holders are obliged to remove from circulation the units that present observations until the deficiencies are corrected. They are also inspected to ensure that their documents and permits are in order.

In the case of the driver-operators, they are also observed for the service provided, the respectful attention that users deserve, and the adherence to sanitary measures, so any lack of this behavior is sanctioned.

The Transportation and Mobility Department has attended to the users’ reports and since this week has intensified its visits to the public transportation bases, in order to carry out thorough inspections and guarantee the safety of the people of San Miguel.
