Celebrate the spring equinox with special event

The Botanical Garden: “El Charco del Ingenio”, in San Miguel de Allende, prepares to receive the spring equinox, welcoming this new cycle of nature next Sunday, March 20th with a special celebration, through a staging called “Apoidea, brief hexagonal opera”.

⇒ For many years the spring equinox has meant for “El Charco del Ingenio” the welcome to the new rhythm marked by nature, becoming a highly anticipated event in San Miguel de Allende where hundreds of people gather.

This year 2022 marks the 31st anniversary of this incredible tradition in the tourist destination, where the Earth is celebrated in a special way in the natural forum of the canyon. Additionally, one of the main objectives is to preserve and disseminate each of the natural beauties of the Botanical Garden.

In this year’s celebration, a show of great artistic quality will take place, under the name of “Apoidea, breve ópera hexagonal”, a Mexican play that was originally dedicated to children; however, due to the theme it addresses and the theatricality of its characters, adults will enjoy it as children.

The staging will be directed by the company Ópera Portátil, originally from Mexico City, which will be invited to take the natural forum of the canyon on March 20 and offer a show of the highest level; composed of professional actors and musicians, who will envelop the audience with their songs and stage acts harmonized with an extraordinary musical accompaniment.

The date is next Sunday, March 20 at 5:30 p.m. and the general cost of the event is 500 pesos, in order to ensure the safety of all attendees, sanitary protocols will be strictly followed.
