The municipality of San Miguel de Allende, a World Heritage City, is one of the scenarios that give life to the Hollywood movie “On the Edge of Revenge”, which had its national premiere this past weekend.

With the support of the Film Commission of the State of Guanajuato (CFGTO), an organization under the Ministry of Tourism, actors such as Frank Grillo, Andie McDowell, Jake Allyn, George Lopez, Jorge Jimenez, Ofelia Medina, Esmeralda Pimentel, and Andres Delgado, gave life, in Guanajuato, to the characters in this contemporary Western-type drama.

Guanajuato has become one of the preferred destinations for the national and international film and audiovisual industry, not only for its fantastic locations but also for the facilities provided by the Commission.

The feature film talks about migration between the United States and Mexico, under the production of Robert Allyn, directed by Conor Allyn, also written by actor Jake Allyn, and co-written by Mexican screenwriter David Barraza; filmed in June 2019 in the natural and historic settings of Mineral de Pozos, San Miguel de Allende, and Guanajuato Capital.

“It’s a personal drama about crossing the borders within ourselves. This film is about the hope that we can move beyond the negative stereotypes on both sides of every border and change the way the world sees Mexico,” expressed director Conor.

The partnership between the Producers and the Government of the State of Guanajuato for the filming of this important Hollywood film promotes a positive image of the state as a safe destination that can attract both tourism and private investment.
