This new festival, baptized as Fasma, will concentrate on the work of more than 25 non-governmental organizations, who have confirmed more than 70 artistic events and activities, free or at affordable costs, which will be held in San Miguel from August 11 to 21 of this year.

On behalf of municipal president Mauricio Trejo, trustee Faviola Correa expressed the desire for success expected of the entire cultural guild rooted in this World Heritage City.

“Without a doubt, art is a fundamental part of the development of the human being, in the development of society, and in the development of a culture. Today it is a reality, I am convinced that it will become a hallmark of our beautiful city. Congratulations and I predict great success for this festival,” said Correa Gonzalez.

The Fasma will have as special guests the children of San Miguel, who will be the beneficiaries of receiving all the cultural contributions offered by San Miguel, which has positioned it in the world as the American Capital of Culture and is the benchmark of culture in Mexico.

From Casa Europa México and to consolidate the first edition of Fasma, the Municipality and each of the Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) representatives signed the Collaboration Agreement with which this new tourism project was born.

Accompanying the Syndic was Tania Castillo from Municipal Tourism and Acacio Martinez from the Department of Culture and Traditions, as well as the representative of the Secretary of Tourism of the State of Guanajuato (Sectur) Jorge Luis Cabrejos and around 50 representatives of civil associations or private institutions, headed by the president of the Casa Europa Mexico Foundation Javier Adame Goddard, as well as municipal officials.

With the birth of the Festival de las Artes, endorsed by the Municipal Government, and which will be the expressive mirror of its cultural essence, San Miguel de Allende is getting better every day.
