Just as San Miguel de Allende is always a delight for the eyes of anyone who visits and walks its streets, ‘Voyerismo’ or ‘Los Mirones son de Palo’.

This time the public will be able to appreciate the art through the lens and sensitivity of artist Valeria Ascencio. “Extremely honored, come and enjoy it, join us,” said the photographer.

After cutting the inaugural ribbon of this gallery in the municipal palace, Mayor Jesús González, the artist, and the public present toured the exhibition composed of 12 nudes and semi-nudes in color and black and white of national public figures such as actors, painters, sculptors, writers, among others. Luis Felipe Tovar, Ana de la Reguera, Gael García Bernal, Javier Marín, Nailea Norvind and Alberto Ruy Sánchez, are some of these characters.

The experience is based on walking through the two rooms observing through the peephole of the door or keyhole, the way in which others undress. “A door, a window, a peephole, a cell phone or a keyhole are the perfect accomplices for the game of voyeurism, the central theme of this exhibition. The voyeur, practiced since time immemorial, is the fact of obtaining pleasure, of observing someone who does not know that he or she is being seen,” describes a text.
