  • Mexico’s Emilio González and Guatemala’s José Toledo share the lead in the II ProAm Ventanas de San Miguel, the fifth round of the 2021 Professional Golf Tour season

Mexico’s Emilio Gonzalez and Guatemala’s Jose Toledo are tied for the top of the standings at the II ProAm Ventanas de San Miguel, the fifth round of the 2021 Season of the Professional Golf Tour being played at the Ventanas de San Miguel Golf & Resort, a par 70 course of 7,141 yards.

Gonzalez and Toledo have a score of 131 strokes, nine under par, while third place goes to Mexico’s Jorge Villar who makes his professional debut. “It was a very good round, I hit him pretty well with birdie at one and two, generating a lot of opportunities all day,” Gonzalez said.

“I had a lot ofpatience and luckily one or the other putt came in,” added Emilio González, originally from San Miguel de Allende and who thanks to his outstanding participation last week in the PGA Tour Latinoamérica tournament in Ecuador received an invitation to the II ProAm Ventanas de San Miguel that distributes a bag of one million 600 thousand pesos.

For his part, the Central American Jose Toledo who lost the opportunity to be alone as leader by registering bogey on the 17th hole, will look tomorrow for his third victory so far this season of the only pay circuit in our country.

“I felt very calm, I did not make many mistakes, I gave myself birdie chances, the greens were very much treaded so I lost a little patience as on the 17th hole we came too slow and I gave away a shot there, tomorrow I will have to take and aspirin of patience and that I think will be the key”, commented José Toledo, current leader of the Ranking.

Meanwhile José de Jesús “Camarón” Rodríguez, current member of the Korn Ferry Tour, is tied for fifth with a score of 134 strokes, six less.
