As part of World Environment Day, the Department of Environment and Sustainability is calling on citizens to carry out a program of activities and works in various parts of the San Miguel territory.
This program of actions in favor of nature in this municipality will take place next Friday, June 3rd to Sunday, June 5th, specifically in the Las Cachinches stream and in the Arboretum (next to Landeta Park), with the main objective of recovering the priority ecosystems in the urban area, helping to preserve the biodiversity of these places.
Currently, the Las Cachinches stream has a natural gradual deterioration, while the Arboretum is threatened by fragmentation; that is, both ecosystems are partially damaged and need priority attention to function as natural reserves.
With the joint effort between San Miguel families and municipal officials, these natural environments will be favored by preserving the existing ecosystem or restoring nature damaged or in a toxic environment due to the presence of garbage and other waste abandoned in these sites.
At both sites, there will be reforestation of pine and oak trees, as well as soil and water conservation.
This Friday, June 3, and Saturday, June 4, the Las Cachinches stream will be intervened, in its two kilometers of margin, having a meeting point in the field of La Aurora, at 8 o’clock in the morning.
