San Miguel de Allende is consolidating its position as the number one municipality in the state in terms of attracting foreign investment, achieving in the first 100 days of the current government 250 million dollars.

This was stated in an interview for Telediario Vespertino, by the Municipal President, Mauricio Trejo Pureco, who pointed out that among the actions that stand out is the agreement with the Italian Chamber of Commerce, which will generate an important business incubator company that will benefit not only those who live in this municipality but also the rest of the state.

“In economic matters, I want to tell you that we have become the number one municipality in the state in terms of attracting foreign investment, in these 100 days we have closed with Japanese companies, investments of more than 250 million dollars that will come this year to San Miguel de Allende,” said the mayor.

The mayor said that with the government of France, the acquisition of state-of-the-art technology was achieved in order to make water distribution in the municipality more efficient since he said that of the 100 percent of the water extracted in the municipality, 35 percent is lost.

“Above all, to comply with two important objectives through these agreements that not only generate a strong economy but also comply with our obligation or natural resources and I will give you a fact, of the 100 percent of the water extracted in San Miguel de Allende, about 35 percent is lost through leaks, this translates not only in water waste but also in waste of economic resources”, said the Municipal President in an interview.

Finally, he said that one of the challenges of the current administration has been to be able to maintain public services after some of them were under a concession.

“In these 100 days that we have been in charge of the Government we have had very important achievements, the first one was to be able to maintain the public services after a handover – a reception that was known throughout the state as very complicated because there was a change of party in the government and we managed to maintain with a very interesting administrative strategy to December 31”, he concluded.
