Festival del Mundo, an event not to be missed

Undoubtedly, the cultural richness of San Miguel de Allende is capable of surprising the most demanding culture lover. Therefore, it is not strange that this Heritage City has been chosen as the venue for the Festival del Mundo, a long-term event that will continue to bring together great exponents of art.

The exhibition will remain for six months; and although it began in May, you still have time to plan a good getaway and go and experience it, as it will end in October. In addition, this Festival has brought together culturally very important countries from both Latin America and Europe. Among them are, in order of participation, Paraguay, Italy, Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, Bulgaria, and Cuba.

It is worth mentioning that each country will have a certain amount of time to participate. Likewise, the artistic disciplines are varied; there will be live concerts, theatrical plays, gastronomic samples, literary presentations, photographic and plastic art exhibitions, film projections, among many others.

In this way, visitors and locals will be able to approach other cultural expressions of the world in the same place. During the Italian exhibition, for example, there was a great emphasis on the Dantesque theme due to the fact that the famous author Dante Alighieri celebrates his 700th birthday in 2021.

In addition to this, it is still possible to visit the exhibitions Journey to Tolom and Pinocchio Around the World at the Municipal Palace. Both are a sample not only of the importance of Italian culture to the world, but also of the relationship that exists between that European country and Mexico, so don’t miss them!

On the other hand, and since you are in San Miguel de Allende, take the opportunity to take a cultural tour and visit emblematic places such as the Instituto Allende, where the great Rufino Tamayo taught; the Fábrica La Aurora, where you will find great galleries and you can meet outstanding contemporary artists such as Fernando M. Díaz and the Museo La Casita, where more than 2000 completely Mexican toys are exhibited.
