The Feria de la Candelaria, formerly known as the “Feria de las Flores” is one of the most deeply rooted traditions among the citizens of San Miguel de Allende, so it is ready to open up to the world.

This colorful fair consists of the exhibition and sale of seeds and all varieties of plants, highlighting the floral plants, which fill the corridors of Benito Juárez Park with color and aroma, where it has been held since the late eighties.

This year more than a hundred flower growers and nurserymen, both local and from different states of the republic, come to this place, who will not only offer you excellent prices, but also tips to take care of your plants.

But it is not only the perfect opportunity to beautify your garden, but also to enjoy an extraordinary cultural experience, since, as this celebration has its origins in pre-Hispanic times, it is also customary for different groups of concheros, belonging to the original peoples that still exist in the region, to arrive on the day of Candlemas to hold a vigil that can be attended by anyone who with faith and respect wishes to live this experience.

Continuing with the cultural offer, this year, the government headed by President Mauricio Trejo Pureco, has prepared a program with the best of local talent, as well as some shows of international stature, to delight all tastes.

For the opening of this event, there will be the participation of the Musical Band of the XII Military Region, on Thursday, February 1 and during the next two weeks the musical tour will go from jazz, Cuban music, boleros, swing and a wide variety of musical genres; as well as various shows such as puppet shows, circus art and flamenco. And to feed the soul, there will also be some wellness activities, such as yoga and sound meditation. Culminating on the 14th with the participation of Los Leones de la Sierra de Xichú, who to the sound of the Guanajuato huapango will make us dance, as every year they make all the attendees dance.

In addition to this, this edition will offer various environmental education workshops for the whole family and a photographic exhibition of some of the endemic birds of the region; This is in order to reaffirm the commitment to make this destination a sustainable and planet-friendly destination.
