    In the framework of World Water Day, the municipal administration of San Miguel de Allende reported that it continues to advance in the recovery and provision of water for all San Miguelenses.

    Leading the opening ceremony of this commemoration by the Water and Sewerage System of San Miguel de Allende (Sapasma), the municipal president Mauricio Trejo urged in a peculiar way more than 500 young students to be the change in favor of the care of water in their daily lives, mainly when bathing.

    The mayor stressed that at the beginning of his term of government he received a very marked problem in the municipal territory, so since then he changed public policy in favor of the care and use of the vital liquid, so that San Miguel families have this basic service and not be destined to particular interests.

    “We recovered the additional five million cubic meters of reserves, but we also have 40 pots scheduled so that in the rainy season they fill with water and refilter that water to the subsoil,” said Mauricio Trejo.

    Surrounded by young people from different high schools and universities gathered in the Zeferino Gutiérrez park, Mauricio Trejo stressed the generation of awareness in the care of water and in the surplus value obtained by homes that have this basic service.

    During the event alluding to World Water Day, Sapasma presented the results that are being developed throughout March in the construction of rainwater collection cisterns and also to learn to make changes in their daily habits in water use; In these activities, students were trained in ecotechnology and more.
