    The Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo, inaugurated the La Cieneguita Vehicular Bridge that will provide better connectivity and mobility to the inhabitants of this area of the Municipality.

    “There is a lot of confidence from citizens to complement works and this is a test. Today you have a bridge that will give you great benefit and a better quality of life for you and your families,” said the Governor.

    This bridge was built by the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Connectivity and Mobility (SICOM), as part of the actions of the State Government to promote the development and economic reactivation of Guanajuato.

    More than 82.4 million pesos were invested, and more than 72,400 residents of San Miguel Allende and the Region will benefit; It is estimated that the road has a capacity of more than 2,500 vehicles per day.

    This renewed access to the City that passes over the Laja River to the former Railway Station, consisted of the construction of a vehicular bridge of 96 meters long by 16 meters wide, with two lanes of circulation, bicycle path, dimensioning, sidewalks, garrisons and transport stops.

    The works include the modernization of a section of 500 meters and the construction of a section of 340 meters of the accesses of the bridge, to join the existing roads that add up to a total length between roads and bridge of 936 meters.

    The Governor thanked the work of members of the Social Comptroller Committee (Cocosoc) in the area, for the support and surveillance work during the construction of the bridge, as it allowed transparency in the use of resources and in the realization of the work.

    In the promotion of the development of San Miguel de Allende, the Governor said that by 2023 there are important projects, including the construction of the Silao – San Miguel de Allende highway, which will start from the Guanajuato Bicentennial Park to the crossing of the La Cieneguita bridge and more than 4 billion pesos will be invested.

    He said that the super boulevard San Miguel de Allende – Dolores Hidalgo will also be carried out, with an investment of more than 2,700 million pesos, for a road that will include four lanes, a bicycle path, overpasses, pedestrian bridges and transport stops; in addition to the dignification of access to the Sanctuary of Atotonilco.

    A project to make an access from Jalpa and Juriquilla to San Miguel de Allende will also be analyzed, in a joint work between the State Government and the Municipality.

    “This six-year term we will invest more than ten billion pesos to San Miguel de Allende, it is something that had never been seen in the history of the state government.

    “Count on our support because more things are coming to San Miguel de Allende and we will continue working with you,” said the governor.

    For his part, the Municipal President of San Miguel de Allende, Mauricio Trejo Pureco, thanked the intervention of the State Government for the realization of this work that benefits residents and visitors who arrive on the side of the former Railway Station, and urged users to keep the road in good condition and to respect speed limits.

    The dedication of the bridge was attended by the Secretary of Infrastructure, Connectivity and Mobility, José Tarcisio Rodríguez Martínez; the Secretary of Social and Human Development, Jesús Oviedo Herrera and the Secretary of Tourism, Juan José Álvarez Brunel; in addition to the Local Deputy, Katya Cristina Soto Escamilla and the Federal Deputy, Ricardo Villarreal García.
