At the age of 3 Melemed’s grandfather bought him a keyboard and by 7 he had given over 200 concerts in his neighborhood. Going on to Juilliard, the 24-year-old Finnish/American was praised by the New York Times as an “excellent young pianist”. In 2019 he won the Juilliard School’s Ruiz Recital Prize, made his Carnegie Hall debut and was a winner in the 1st China International Music Competition.
Melemed played works by composers including Bach, Beethoven, Schumann and Rachmaninoff, and on Sunday, Chopin, Liszt, Debussy, Stravinsky and Bartok.
