A project is about to begin in Colonia San Antonio that will be joined by neighbors and urban artists.

To begin with, they will do it on Tesoro Street, a street that they will fill with murals and art that they will call Paseo de Arte Urbano de San Miguel de Allende in which they will seek to revive their street and thereby support the businesses of San Miguel de Allende residents.

“We will fill the entire street with murals in collaboration with neighbors to create the first urban art walk of San Miguel de Allende made by artists and neighbors for the people.

“We are trying to revive the street and with this to face the Walmart construction project where there are many small shops and local businesses that will be affected by the construction of the shopping mall and with this we intend to give them a different view that attracts people to consume locally,” said Ekza Illescas, one of the promoters of this project.

A little bit of what will be in the Calle de Tesoro.

It will be called “La Calle del Arte”, there will also be music, artisans and activities that we will bring with it a cultural tianguis that will be able to take visitors to the city to this place.

The artists who will participate are part of the Autonomous Mexican Union of Artists (SMAART) who will promote this type of project to prevent “politicians from interfering” in the culture of the people.
