Heading into its 26th edition, the Guanajuato International Film Festival presented this year’s image created with artificial intelligence guided by graphic artist Analí Jaramillo.

    TECHNOLOGICAL REVOLUTION
The organizing committee headed by Sarah Hoch, announced that during the GIFF the contributions, horizons and threats of this new technology will be discussed, the challenges and opportunities represented by Artificial Intelligence (AI) for the creative industries, mainly the audiovisual in León, San Miguel de Allende and Irapuato will be addressed from July 20 to 31.

With this project, the festival proposes for its audience and guests an event at the height of the challenges and questions facing our era. The future of cinema and the creative industries has caught up with us, the relationship between machine and man is complicated.

Under the premise that these new technologies promise to revolutionize the way we work, live and even how we think, true to its avant-garde essence, AI will be used in all areas of the Festival (editorial, events, accreditations, conferences, etc.).

GIFF will put on the table this year the most complicated questions on issues such as intellectual property, decision-making, privacy, homogenization of content and updating legislation: urgent issues to responsibly assimilate the new skills offered by the contemporary world and ignite creative modes that we have not seen so far.

To show the above, the festival gives a taste of what will be its creativity, with the official image of this year, designed with AI guided by the graphic artist Analí Jaramillo.

The film community attending will have the opportunity to take a deep look at the consequences—both predictable and unpredictable—of the latest digital revolution.

Another point to highlight is that this edition GIFF moves towards the version of the future with the energies put into innovation and the long-range perspectives that have always characterized them.
