Barra Mexico returns to San Miguel de Allende

    For the second consecutive year, the Barra México (BM) event returns to the state of Guanajuato to celebrate its seventh edition in San Miguel de Allende, providing Guanajuato residents and tourists with experiences of cocktails, gastronomy, spirits and wines.

    With the impulse of the Secretariat of Tourism of the State of Guanajuato and the World Heritage City, this leading event in the beverage segment in Mexico and Latin America will promote the local products of the region and will bring buyers and decision makers of the sector closer to know the products, Spirits and wines from the Guanajuato region.

    From June 16 to 19, the event will start with the “Cocktail Week”, an activity that will have the participation of more than 30 hotels, restaurants, vineyards, bars, galleries and spas; and on the 18th and 19th “Villa Barra México” will be held at Hacienda los Picachos -located in the San Miguel de Allende-Querétaro km3 race, in San José de la Posta- with more than 30 seminars and the participation of more than 100 brands.

    This was announced today at a press conference, held in Mexico City, Jorge Cabrejos Samamé, in charge of the Undersecretary of Tourism Promotion of the Ministry of Tourism of the State of Guanajuato, on behalf of Juan José Álvarez Brunel, Secretary of Tourism; Paula García, director of Barra México; and Tania Castillo, director of Economic Development and Tourism of San Miguel de Allende.

    “We are very pleased that the state of Guanajuato and its destination San Miguel de Allende is the headquarters of BM and project everything that the entity has, because we are not only culture and adventure, we also have a gastronomic, wine and distillate development,” said Jorge Cabrejos.

    In Guanajuato, the activity of the wine tourism sector is enhanced and the distillate segment is promoted, thanks to the strategies “Guanajuato, Tierra de Vinos” and promotion of the tourist offer, which meet the objective of promoting the experiences, products and destinations of the entity.

    Paula García explained that, in these 4 days, BM will focus on improving the level of service and knowledge of the staff of consumer centers in San Miguel de Allende through trainings, seminars and collaborations; in offering a networking platform to connect local brands, entrepreneurs and local, national and international buyers.

    And in creating an atmosphere of inspiration with fine drinking, where visitors will have the opportunity to explore local wines, spirits and beers in all BM activities.

    Barra México, which has the trust and support of Casa Dragones (official ally), has the highest standards of inclusion and sustainability, and recognition as the first show worldwide dedicated to cocktails as a negative carbon (Climate Positive).
