Sharon Whitham is a printmaker and mixed media artist who spends part of each year in San Miguel. This body of work was created here in Mexico using the focal point of a vessel and imagery inspired by the local colors, patterns and shapes in nature. The vessel is symbolic of mother, earth, fertility, plentitude, and transformation. The vessels are filled with the beauty, majesty and bounty of our planet. We depend on the precarious balance of these plants for our very existence. With awareness and care – there is hope for us all.
