    El Jardin

In San Miguel de Allende the carnival is better known as the Festival of the Shells, people bathed in gold dust, silver or confetti could be seen in the garden during the Weekend and until this Tuesday prior to Wednesday ash.

Those who remember this tradition say that throughout the years 70´s it was common to see the young men and women circling the garden in the opposite direction from each other and when they saw a girl they liked they asked for permission to break a cascade of confetti.

Today the tradition has varied, many times in an aggressive tone they break flour shells and even natural, but still preserves the work of many Sanmiguelenses who make figures with the shells as clowns and flowers.
